Rome wasntbuiltn Odunze

“Neither was a functioning lineup, apparently.”

Twenty-one seasons, one trophy, and it happened in 2008 — back when the roster was called "bitches aint shit" and the title team scored a whopping 1,131.4 points. That's 20 seasons without a ring and counting. The résumé isn't empty: six podiums, a runner-up in 2007, another in 2018. But the average finish sits at the 54.9th percentile, which is the statistical definition of "guy who's always kinda in it." The dynasty pivot has produced a 12-16 record and zero playoff bracket appearances worth bragging about.

2025: 5-9, 10th Place, and a Quarterback Room Big Enough to Field a Rugby Scrum

2025 was the year the rebuild stopped looking like a plan and started looking like a hostage situation. Five wins, nine losses, 10th place, 1,663.07 points — down 134.18 from the 1,797.25 the year before, which is an impressive trick given that dynasty rosters are supposed to improve. The 7-7 middling comfort of 2024 curdled into a full season of Sunday afternoons spent deciding which of four quarterbacks — Rodgers, Herbert, Caleb Williams, or Tanner McKee — deserved the honor of losing by nine. The Bears stack was assembled with real conviction: Caleb, Rome Odunze, and the Chicago defense, a three-headed monument to hope. Head-to-head it was equally undecided — 2-2 with Come Backy Irving, 1-2 against both Get-N-Jigba With It and Seperation of Bowers. Rome wasn't built in a day. This is year two.
